Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast

Conner and I got to go to kindergarten today to help with their feast. He loved being around the "big" kids and enjoyed helping me pass food out.

This guy fits right in. He's going to be a handful when he finally gets to kindergarten!

Staying busy

Conner loves checking out the moon every night, we thought this was really pretty!

Happy Marine Corps Birthday and Veteran's Day!  Check out these two youngsters!

We had a few flurries Tuesday morning - Makayla was trying hard to catch the first flake!  No luck though :(
Our preschool classes took a field trip to the fire station yesterday.
This kid is too cool for preschool...
For the birds!  We had fun making pine cone bird feeders.
Tonight we did some painting. Sunsets at 5:00pm means lots of evening craft time!

November already?

I can not believe how quickly the days are going by!
And the years - Saturday I turned 37!

On Sunday we took the kids to see the Redskins play in DC.  We had great seats, great weather, and it was a great game!
Monday night was Makayla's soccer dinner and she got her first trophy - she was so excited!
It's hard to see but it has her name on it
The team
On Tuesday they came with me to vote.  Makayla got to bring her own voter registration card from school which she thought was very cool.  Conner was disappointed because he thought we were going on a boat (I guess vote and boat sound the same to him!)
Makayla didn't have school Monday or Tuesday but we did so she came to preschool with us.  She liked helping me with my class and was really excited to "read" them a book.

Happy Halloween!

Carving time!  Conner was not too excited...
Makayla didn't hesitate to get right in there!
"Ok, I'll get closer and you can put some seeds on my spoon, but I'm still not going to touch it..."
EEEEWWWWW!
Look, guts!
Makayla designed the face
Our jack-o-lantern
All lit up!
On Halloween morning I made the kids special ghost pancakes.  I put the batter in a water bottle to make the shape.  The kids thought that was really cool and then gave requests of a bat, spider and witch!
Ready for trick-or-treating!
So pretty
He looked very cute, but did not want his picture taken :(

Ready for the trick-or-treaters!

Unfortunately it started raining soon after we got outside so the kids weren't really into walking around a lot.  At one point Makayla said, "those people in their houses look so cozy, can't we just go home and be like them?"  So that's what we did.  I think their favorite part of the night was waiting for the kids to come to our house and hand them candy :)

Catching up

Happy 37th to Jason - that's a lot of candles!
Very fashionable...
Red sky at morning, sailors take warning - but I take a picture!
Conner's first dentist appointment
Getting checked out
He did awesome!
All bundled up to watch Makayla's soccer game
She's been doing great!  She scored two goals at this game!
Aaron was headed to Baltimore, MD for work and was able to stop by our house for the weekend. We had a great visit with him and Grammy.
Kelly, Julia and Matthew also came to visit.  The kids had a great time playing together and decorating cookies!
I'm going to need to get more sprinkles...
Makayla's dough person (the only way she would agree to me throwing it away was if I took a picture and put it on the blog...)
Conner was napping while the other kids did cookies so he got to do his later with Uncle Aaron.
Showing off her new hand-me-down jammies from Julia!
