Friday morning started like the rest of the week had. I got up, fed
Makayla, quickly checked to see if there were any new teacher job postings, saw there were none, and got ready to go for a walk with
Kona and
Makayla. As we are walking I was thinking of what I was going to do the rest of the day. My cell phone ringing disrupted my thoughts. It was a principal calling to see if I was still looking for a job because she just had a second grade position open up. I tried to compose myself, make sure
Kona wasn't eating the leash while I was distracted, and tried to hold a somewhat
coherent conversation. We set up the interview for that afternoon and I was able to bring
Makayla with me to the interview since it was such short notice. The interview went very well. The school is only a year old and very nice and everyone I met was very friendly. Later in the day I was offered the job and of course I accepted!!! I think having
Makayla with me really helped! The name of the school is
Sycolin Creek Elementary and it is located in
Leesburg, VA, about 45 minutes away. I will have this week to get ready and meet my new class next Tuesday!
