Makayla the fishy

Makayla had a lot of fun at swim lessons during the week!  I wouldn't say Conner had "a lot" of fun, but he tolerated it ok :)

Today there was a make up lesson since Tuesday was rained out and Jason was able to take her.  I heard she jumped off the diving board again but was too fast that he couldn't get a picture!  So proud of our little fishy!

While playing outside this evening, makayla decided to create a triathlon!

Also, today at swim lessons, makayla jumped off the diving board! I didn't have my camera with me but you better believe I'll be ready tomorrow!

Bead class

Makayla has been doing a bead class the past two days.  Yesterday they worked with clay to mix colors and make their own beads.  As all the girls chose their colors, I was shocked to hear Makayla say she wanted green and yellow instead of her usual pink and purple!  Today they got to choose some glass beads to add to the ones they made.  Here she is with her piles, one for a bracelet and one for a necklace.

Fun at the park

This past weekend we were in Quakertown, PA so Jason and I could do the Steelmen Open Water Swim (check out our training blogs for the details).  Mary and Ed met us there and we are thankful for their help with the kids.  We spent some time checking out the area on Saturday and the kids had a great time at a playground we found.

Art Camp

Makayla had a great time at Art Camp this week.  Today was their Art Show where we got to check out what they have been working on.

This one was "art in motion".  She was told to make a dance move, then they traced her, then they painted.  They background was spatter paint where they were encouraged to smack the boards and fling paint.  I hope she isn't expecting to do that at home!

 This one was bubble art.  Very cool.

 In the middle of the week they had some girls from the Color Guard come and do a demo with their flags, then the kids made their own flags.

Friday night was Seafood Boil!  Yum! (No turtles were in the boil :)

 Makayla was ready to go!

 Makayla and Conner did really well playing nicely together during the week (most of the time :)  And why is he wearing his helmet?  Not really sure, but with the amount of things he runs into, it's probably ok for him to wear it more often.

 After dinner we headed across the pond to feed the turtles

 So many turtles!  I'm just glad none decided to come up the bank, Conner probably would have ran all the way back to the house!

 We had a good drive home and the kids were excited to be out of the car, see the cat and dog, and play with their toys.  Jason went to the grocery store the next day and picked up a Key Lime Pie.  Unfortunately it was no good, but we have lots of great memories from our week at the Key Lime Beach House!

Grandma has been working very hard on a game quilt for Makayla.  She loves it and it kept her entertained all week!

 An osprey nest was up in the tree to the left.  We had a good time watching the mom and dad take care of the babies in the nest.

 We got these cakes for our parents and are hoping they make up for all the holidays we've forgotten and the ones we will forget (this may become an annual thing!)

 All this beach time is very tiring for this guy!
