We've heard the ice cream truck many times this summer, but never timed it right. So today when we saw it coming up the street, I sent the kids outside while I raced through the house to find a pile of coins and make it outside before the truck left. The ice cream man waited patiently while I counted my handful of change ($1.50 per Popsicle...) but each nickel was worth it as they enjoy their treat, right before dinner and soccer :)

Flu shot treat
I didn't have to hold anyone down for their shot (Conner only cried about a minute and Makayla not at all!) so of course we had to celebrate with ice cream!

Catching up
Last Wednesday Makayla had a play date after school so Conner and I enjoyed a special lunch date.
And again...
That afternoon was another hot one so we filled up the pools again - Kona's pool too!
Uh oh...
Makayla looks so tough :)
Sprinkler fun!
Goofball :)
Saturday was Makayla's second soccer game
Looking good!
Showing off their fall clothes
So stylish :)

Makayla's first soccer game
Ready to go!
Right in the action!
Right in the action!
I was a little sad to miss her first game but really happy to hear how much fun she had and that she did well! Although Jason said she was frustrated at all the stopping/starting, she just wanted to keep running :)
Patriot's Half
This past weekend I did the Patriot's Half in Williamsburg, VA. It was 1.2 mile swim, 58 mile bike, 13.1 mile run - the bike was 2 miles longer than a regular half Ironman distance. Since it was the same day as Makayla's first soccer game, Jason stayed home with the kids and my friend Sarah came with me. We had a great time enjoying our "girls weekend" and I had a great race! My goal was to break 6 hours and I did 5:44! I'm very happy with how I did!
Crossing the finish line
Happy to be done!A huge thank you to Sarah for coming to support me on race day and to all those who were cheering from home!
School lunch
Last Friday Conner and I surprised Makayla and joined her for lunch. It was great to see her but Conner thought the lunchroom was too loud...
Conner's first day of preschool
Conner had a great first day of preschool last Wednesday. He's in the three year old class, but taught by the other teacher (I'm teaching three year olds again this year).
Marion visit
We headed to Marion for Labor Day weekend and had a great time seeing everyone. Sean, Erin, Colleen and Ava also made the trip. The kids loved getting to know Ava!
