One proud mommy

I am so proud of Makayla and how awesome she did at her swim lessons this week. She loved every minute of it - so we signed up to do it again next week!

Check her out - waiting her turn to go on the diving board!!! The instructors were great - they knew exactly how to make her feel comfortable but also push her a little too (no, they didn't push her off!)

After many tantrums and much screaming, we decided to get Conner his own drawing board. But now of course Makayla wants his because it's new and he wants whatever she has...
And I forgot to mention in yesterday's post but the other night I got to rescue my first toy out of the toilet. Thank you Conner, I'm sure it won't be the last...

Loving the pool

Swim lessons are continuing to go well. Makayla is so excited to go and can't wait to tell me everything she did when she is done (even though I watch the whole lesson!) Check her out - jumping off the side!
Thankfully there is a big shade tent where Conner and I can hang out and he has lots of space to walk around - he's getting really good!

And this kid cracks me up. Since she doesn't have a belt to hook her phones on, this is what she came up with!

Ready for swim lessons!

Today was day 1 of swim lessons for Makayla. She was so excited and ready to go!
After a little wave to us, she was in the pool with her instructors (4 of them and she's the only one in the class!). Conner and I hung out under a shade tent and played with his ball. He was cracking everyone up!

She did well and had a blast! It's every morning this week and she can't wait to go back tomorrow!

*Note, Conner is not totally naked, he does have a diaper on. But since he refuses to keep any bib on, this is the best way for him to eat!

Fun in New York

We spent a fun weekend in New York and were really glad to see everyone, especially Aaron and Trish! We had a great time watching the kids play Saturday afternoon at Matt and Meghan's house. Conner watched Makayla and Warren run around but it won't be long before he is right there with them!

On Sunday morning Grace was baptized and we were so happy to be there to be a part of it.

Sunday afternoon Jason took Makayla down to check out his old swimming hole.

Kona loved it and made several trips back to it that afternoon!

Makayla asked several times if she could hold Grace and was so excited when she got her chance Monday morning. Such cute girls!

Makayla's VBS performance

Makayla had a great time at VBS this week (she was able to be in a class this time instead of in the nursery!) Each day she came home and told me all about what she learned and how much fun she had!
Today they had a final performance and Jason was able to join us in the audience.

One of our friends is doing a class at The Little Gym and today was bring a friend day so Conner got to go. He had a great time practicing his walking with all the open space - and it's a good thing there was a lot of padding!

Day 4 at the beach

Back to the beach! Makayla was a little braver, but still didn't really go in the water!

Makayla loved playing with Abby too. Here they are checking out some sand crabs that were caught in the buckets. Abby was picking them up while Makayla watched from a safe distance away...

It was a wonderful few days at the beach with so many fun times. We headed back yesterday afternoon - my plan was to wear the kids out at the beach in the morning so they would sleep in the car, but they only slept about 30 minutes on the way home! Thankfully they are good travelers! Grammy also arrived yesterday afternoon and we are looking forward to a good visit with her over the next few days!

He would get excited when the water came up to his toes, but it was pretty chilly so I didn't bring him in more than that.

Makayla thought she would go take a quick dip in the water - all the way up to her ankles!

The sandy man, eating a sandy cracker with a fist full of sand... Kelly commented that she has seen many kids eat a little sand, but Conner is the first that she has seen actually pick it up and eat fistfulls of it on purpose!

After all the sand clean up and naps, we were off to The Lobster House for dinner. It was packed but the girls didn't mind - they played a little game of charades while we waited.

The boys took a walk to check out the boats.

After dinner was a trip back to the arcade. Makayla was very excited to do the driving game again and was really pretty good at it!

And the merry-go-round again!

She also tried this game but got scared and handed the hammer to me because she didn't want the alligators to get her...
