A very Merry Christmas!

Santa was here!

After sleeping until 8 AM (thank you!) the kids were refreshed and ready to check out the presents!
 Conner was very excited!
Taking a quick rest in their new chairs from Grandma and Grandpa!
Checking out the note from Santa.  Conner insisted on "reading" it first.  We didn't understand most of what he said, but he said "Amen" at the end :)
 Hmm, what's in here?
Purple sparkle nailpolish!  How did Santa know that she would LOVE it!
A car for her doll house!  This was one of the things at the top of her list.
More tracks for the train set!
Roller skates! (Yikes!)  Don't worry, she also got safety pads :)
Let me just sit back and put my feet up a minute...
Checking out some of his new books
They picked out a special present for each other and Makayla picked out this cool farm set for him which he loves.
Complete with a few animals!  Makayla picked out a horse, a giraffe, an alpaca and a baby alpaca.  It's a unique farm!
Whew, everyone was worn out after all the excitement!  Conner's special present for Makayla was a ladybug dreamlight that is right next to her in the picture.
One of the best parts of Christmas morning was watching them play nicely together with their new toys.
 Doing her first Operation...
Building awesome train tracks.  We are going to need a bigger living room!
Going out for her first roll.
We decided she should stay on the carpet for a while.  She roller skates like a swimmer :)
Conner got this cool race car track that you mount on the wall-
 Ready, set, go!
Whew!  We had a great morning, lots of fun in the afternoon, then a fabulous dinner with our Winchester Family (Sarah, Chad, Hannah, and Sadie).  We hope you all had a wonderful day too!  Merry Christmas!

All ready for Santa!

First step, kid picture in front of the tree.  Thank you Grammy for making the awesome matching jammies!

Next, set out the cookies and milk for Santa, and carrots for the reindeer.

 Then, sprinkle the reindeer food
Or use Conner's dump method :)
Finally, listen to "Twas the Night Before Christmas"
We are ready!  Looking forward to the morning!

More snow!

So as the snow continued to fall all afternoon, we realized the forecast was WAY off!  Makayla was so excited to see all the snow when she came down from her rest, so back out she went!

Do you think she likes playing in the snow?
She really likes shoveling - yay!
The predicted "measurable trace" turned out to be about 4 inches!
 Our snowman and snowgirl
 Our snow family!

Snow!!!

It's snowing!

This little snowstorm was predicted to be "a measurable trace" with rain in the afternoon so we bundled up and headed out to play after lunch.  Conner wasn't sure what to think at first, but then had a great time running around.

Makayla was thrilled to be out playing!

Makayla loves eating snow (and yes we have told her to avoid the yellow, and especially the brown :)

Catch!

Silly snow angel

WEEEE!

Our little snowman family

Cookies for Santa!

Makayla was so excited to bake cookies for Santa!

She took a lot of care in the decorating

So pretty

Conner was excited to do some too

He had a less precise decorating method...

You look away for just a second...

He thinks they need just a few more sprinkles

Perfect :)

Football fun!

Yesterday Makayla and Conner attended their first NFL game - Giants vs Ravens in Baltimore.  They did great and we had so much fun!  Temps were in the high 30s/low 40s so we bundled up and enjoyed the experience!

Makayla really liked watching the cheerleaders and the band's half time show.  Our seats were great!

The boys

The girls

We were planning on leaving after the half time show but when I mentioned that to Makayla, she was VERY upset!  I told her we would stop at a restaurant on the way home for dinner but she said "no, I want hot dogs here!"  So this time she won, and we all enjoyed hot dogs while watching more of the game :)

Although the kids were great, the Giants were horrible so we did leave just a few minutes into the 4th quarter so we could beat the rush out.  We are so happy with how they did and look forward to many more big games!
